A Query

Hi Joe,

I bought your book and am reading it.I will be letting you know how it turns out(and is turning out).

Have you ever heard of a book called “A Happy Pocket Full of Money” by David Cameron Gikandi? I had skimmed this book in the past but in reading your book had to revisit it.

According to information available from amazon; the book was published “Publisher: Xlibris Corporation (December 19, 2008)”

Your book was published “Publisher: Universal Publishers; 2nd,Revised edition (December 5, 2008)”

The discussion of quantum mechanics etc in chapter one sounds uncannily like what I have been reading in your book for the past few weeks. Your research is approximately 30 years old.I am trying to find how long this author has been researching his subject but is so far unsuccessful. I apologize for the extensive quotes but you can just scan them.Wanted you to get a true sense of what was found.

Here are some extensive quotations

Chapter One

Quantum Physics: Knowing what you and the world are made of is the first key to knowing how to make it  your way

“Quantum physics tells us that it is the act of observing an object that causes it to be there where and how we observe it. Energy is the sub-atomic particles that in turn make up atoms and finally matter. This energy exists as waves spread out over space and time. Only when you exercise observation do these waves become particles localized as a space-time event, a particle at a particular time and ‘place’. As soon as you withdraw observation, they become a wave again. So, as you see, your observation, your attention to something, and your intention, literally creates that thing as a space-time event. This is scientific. In other chapters, we shall see how to focus, concentrate, and guard your attention, intention, and thought to create your reality exactly. ”

Joe, I know that information about quantum mechanics is readily available but I honestly wonder!

“No solid object is solid. It is made up of rapidly flashing packets of energy. Billions and trillions of packets of energy. They flash in and flash out of that space where the ‘object’ is. They do not just stay there. So, why does a human body or a car look like a solid continuous object when we now know that it is actually a rapidly flashing field of energy? Think of a TV image. When you watch a movie, you see a person walk across the screen smoothly, yet in reality it is just a film reel with 24 slightly different frames a second so your eyes do not detect the gap between the frames. Even each of those frames is a composition of billions of light photons flashing at the speed of light. That is what your world is – a rapid flash that causes an illusion of being ‘solid’ and ‘continuous’. Once you understand what your world is really, truly, you start to understand it’s true behavior and nature. You then change your view of it. And with your changed perception, you change your creation of it. This is the first step to wealth. ” “Physicists have also discovered that quantum ‘particles’ make decisions. They are powered by intelligence. Not only that, they also know, instantly, wha decisions are being made by other particles anywhere else in the universe! Th synchronicity across space and time is instantaneous – they ‘communicate’ without taking any time or crossing any space. In fact, they also move instantaneously without having to go across space or take time. They can get from point A to B without having to cross the space in between, and point A an B can be in different times. Remember that quantum ‘particles’ are not particle as you would normally think of a particle. They are not ‘things’ that are at a particular ‘place’ and ‘time’ – they are spread across space and time.  ” “Anything you do, any thought you have, ripples on forever and changes the composition of the whole universe, however small that change is. ”

Joe, does this sound familiar?:

Chapter Two The Truth About Time: It does not exist except as you say it does

“Time is a funny thing. A very funny thing. The biggest trick time ever played on us was to make us think it was real, and that we were under its full control. Yet, time is a complete illusion, a strong and persistent illusion. What wonderful news that is! Time is an illusion created by you. Once you understand how this illusion is created by you, you then begin to re-create it as you wish, consciously and deliberately instead of unconsciously and accidentally as you may have been doing. What is time? What do I have to do with time? How should I think and be about time so that I may experience wealth and other things in larger quantities faster? This chapter will begin to answer these questions. In other chapters in this book, these concepts will become more real to you. The only time that truly exists is Now… ” I double checked the bibliography in your book and the above author nor book was there. A topic which you deal with in your book and on your blog is whether to be specific or not. Here is another quote from the above mentioned book “For example, many people wish to have a nice car. But the mistake they make is to have ‘get a nice car’ as their goal. What do they expect the universe to give them? There is physically no such car called Nice Car. Be crystal -clear! Envision the exact car, its make, model, color, options, and all that. Go to the car yard or look it up on the Internet and know exactly, or as exact as possible, what it is you wish to have as a nice car. Then envision that every day – the more you think about it, the closer you get it to you. This is the effective way to image. Life is images of the Mind, expressed. Do you wish to travel to another country for a dream holiday? Go to the travel agency and get all the details from them, get the brochures, flight itinerary, prices, hotels and car reservations, and all that. Build up the whole trip, exactly, in your mind in full color and spectacle. ”

I look forward as usual to your enlightened response and let me again say I absolutely cannot put down your book for long.

Einstein’s ‘Spooky Physics’ Gets More Entangled

extracts
“A new study found that this eerie quantum link can apply even to situations that resemble the larger, everyday world. Scientists entangled two pairs of vibrating particles separated in space, so that when one pair was forced to change its movement, the other pair did as well.”

Criticism of Binaural beats

The following website has a piece dealing with binaural beats:

Title: Binaural Beats
source:
h–p://skeptoid.com/episodes/4147

(replace “–” with tt)

Apart from the general article, could you address the following as it relates to ideas contained in your book.

Article extracts:
“But the question is: Does it have a special effect on the brain? A lot of people think so. The basic claim being made for binaural beats is “resonant entrainment”. Entrainment, in physics, is when two systems which oscillate at different frequencies independently are brought together, they synchronize with one another, at whatever the combined system’s resonant frequency is. Examples of entrainment occur in animals in nature; for example the chirping of crickets or the croaking of frogs. Synchronization of menstrual cycles in women is another example. Even people coming together and dancing with one another is a type of entrainment. The basic claim for binaural beats is that the perceived low-frequency beat will entrain your brain wave pattern, thus forcing your brain into some desired state.

Most of these web sites give some brief explanation of entrainment. The example you hear most often is that of Dutch polymath Christiaan Huygens, who in 1665, hung two pendulum clocks next to each other on a wall. He noticed that the pendulums eventually matched each others’ frequency, but always in antiphase, opposite to each other, as if canceling each other out. He’d try disturbing one or setting them in sync, but they’d always return to the same antiphase synchronization. Huygen’s experience is widely touted on binaural beat websites as a demonstration of how systems can become spiritually connected through some energy field. However, they misunderstand what happened, and have not read the full story. Huygens also tried taking one clock off the wall, and as soon as they were no longer physically connected to one another via the actual wall, the effect disappeared. It was not the proximity of the clocks to one another that created the entrainment; it was their physical, mechanical connection to one another. As each pendulum swung it imparted an infinitesimal equal and opposite reaction to the wall itself. With two clocks on the wall, the system naturally sought the lowest energy level, according to the laws of thermodynamics; and both pendulums would thus swing exactly counter to each other, minimizing the system’s total energy.”

“So to summarize their claim, they’re saying that entrainment means that a binaural beat will cause your brain’s electroencephalogram to match the pattern of the phantom beat. Well, if it did, entrainment certainly doesn’t apply and would not be part of the equation, so we can scratch that off the list. But it doesn’t make the claimed observation wrong. We do know that certain electroencephalogram waveforms are often associated with certain kinds of activity. For example, physical activity or REM sleep often produces an electroencephalogram with a sine wave of between 4 and 8 Hz, which we term a theta pattern. Waking relaxation with eyes closed often produces a pattern from 8 to 12 Hz, which is called an alpha pattern. There are only a few characterized patterns, and pretty general descriptions of what kinds of activities go with them. The claim made by the binaural beat sellers depends on much more granular and specific matches. For example, the claim that a binaural beat with a frequency of X produces the same effect in your brain as Vicodin is wholly implausible. Such claims presume that we know the exact frequency of the electroencephalogram in each of these desired conditions, and the fact is that brain waves don’t work that way. It is wholly and absolutely implausible to say that desired brain condition X will occur if we get your EEG to read exactly X Hz.”

These quotes deal with entrainment; a topic you dealt with in your books.

As usual, looking forward to your responses.

Products to Assist Meditation

Hi Joe,

You detailed entrainment and binaural beats in your books;

Are there any good products out there that has worked for you and would recommend?

I have been attempting to discover these on-line but may just need a decent starting point.

Thanks

Ordaining Reality In Brief is now available for Sale!

For Immediate Release                                                                      November 2, 2009

Ordaining Reality In Brief: This brand new book delivers the critical facts concerned with creating the future to the general audience.

Joseph E. Donlan, radio and TV guest, lecturer, and author of the acclaimed Ordaining Reality Series completed his third and by far most accessible book yet. His latest book explains, in simple but convincing fashion, how the underlying laws of nature support the theory that positive thinking produces positive results.  This information significantly enhances one’s ability to bring about desired changes.

Although his two earlier books articulated this link, this third edition significantly abridges and simplifies the information presented in the first book, Ordaining Reality: the Science behind the Power of Positive Thinking; and further condenses his second book, Ordaining Reality Made Easy: A Guide for Creating the Future, so that a much greater audience can enjoy the extraordinary power of influencing their own future in a positive manner.  All three books in this series present a new paradigm of nature and couple it with a convincing explanation of how our right brain hemispheres have a unique ability to tap into the hidden domain of the metaphysical. Of great interest to non-scientific readers, Donlan’s latest book accomplishes this feat at a presentation level suitable for all readers to appreciate the divergent worlds of physics and metaphysics and gain a view of nature that undeniably links mind to matter.

The newest book (ISBN-10: 1599429101) is sold through Amazon, B&N, Borders, etc., or orders can be placed at Universal-Publishers, Boca Raton, FL. e-mail: www.universal-publishers.com.  To arrange a book signing, lecture or interview, contact Joe Donlan at: Joe@OrdainingReality.com, or visit his URL websites at: www.JoeDonlan.com, or www.OrdainingReality.com

Suggestions

Hi Joe,
Instead of the earlier suggestion of delegating a section for “Success Stories” on the blog, a forum may be a more feasible option. The “Success Stories” could then have its own section.
Readers who comment on this blog may volunteer or make arrangements with you about becoming moderators for this forum. This would greatly accommodate your busy schedule. I would have loved to be the first volunteer but my expertise in these area is severly lacking.
Readers could then discuss your book in far greater detail.

All the best

More Questions and Musings

Do people create their own future consciously or if not then is it created for them by default? Default; meaning that suggestions created and received from external causes (family, friends, society, media etc)
Or is it that everyones future is cast in stone so to speak.

Chance, Randomness, Probability, Possibilities..
What part do these play in the life of the individual who is attempting to ordain reality?
Do these even play any signicant role at all?

Is ordaining reality constraint by any of the following “systems” which greatly affect the lives of individuals:
Politics – Can a person living in Darfur or other regions of conflict ordain their reality? This is one criticism that is levelled at many “law of attraction” proponenets!

Economics: Will a person living in America ordain is reality better than someone who lives in North Korea or Cuba?

Religion: This one you touched on in previous posts – Do those who believe in a deity find ordaining reality(individual action) troublesome.

Looking forward to your responses and those of other reader

Being specific or not!

Hi Joe,
In a previous post you addressed the need to be generic(general) with desired outcomes.

Could this be a double edged sword? Is there the possibility that in being general, one may obtain the results through a negative or undesirable situation?
Example:
A person named X desires a car!
Person X gets a new car becuase is uncle(etc) passed away

While if one was being specific one could inlcude affirmations that would try as best as possible to include only favourable results. As you pointed out getting specific would narrow the ways in which the desired outcomes could happen.

A Series of Questions, Musings and Comments

Hi Joe,

Let me first off commend you on what you have attempted to do – to scientifically explain the phenomena of positive thinking and influencing the future with your thoughts. My hat goes of to and you deserve all the credit possible. The present market is awash with piles of junk books purporting to explain the subject matter. I was reading a popular science book “The Fabric of the Cosmos” and realized that most of the books that dealt with quantum physics were exaggerating or forming improper conclusions. At another junction is the attitude of these books towards science.

Generally speaking, when dealing with this type of subject matter (i.e ordaining reality, thoughts influencing future etc) there is an attitude of anti-science that abounds. People smugly tell you about “spirit blah blah” in all honesty I have no clue what that word mean. In contrast when I read the sample pages you provide from your book you painstakingly lay out your case and what it is that your attempting to do. You mentioned and I paraphrase “that there is a invisible world……..but you then go on to explain” All I can say is that I so much look forward to buying your book or books depending on what I find in the original.

“Ordaining reality” and lucid dreaming

Good morning Joe,

I have yet to read your book but in anticipation of its arrival from B&N, I have two questions:  I’m not certain if your method employs affirmations or not. If it doesn’t, I’d like to hear your take on whether supplementing visualizations with affirmations would be effective? Secondly, what are your thoughts about “supercharging” results by reinforcing visualizations with lucid dreaming?

Best,

Erik
